19th Annotation Retreat:
Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life

St. Ignatius of Loyola developed the Spiritual Exercises through an immersive experience in prayer and contemplation. He left a lasting legacy in the form of a 30 day Spiritual Exercises retreat for Jesuits and others to help develop their prayer and encounter with God. An adapted form of the retreat, commonly known as the 19th Annotation Retreat, takes place over the course of 9 months as part of one’s daily life. The retreatant meets weekly with a spiritual director to both walk through their prayer and gain prayer prompts for the following week. The retreat runs from September - May.

MaryAnne completed a Practicum in the 19th Annotation Retreat through the Sisters of Saint Joseph Center for Spirituality in Ocean Grove, NJ and offers the retreat independently to spiritual seekers.
